There are banners swaying in the wind on Neyland Stadium. The relay races have been run. The spirit competition tryouts have been cheered.
That means one thing…. It’s Homecoming time in Tennessee.
Homecoming is a tradition that brings collegians and alumnae together. It is a game set aside to celebrate the school we love and how great it is becoming.
This year UT’s Homecoming game was against the Auburn Tigers. The week leading up to the game is filled with activities for collegian and alumnae alike. These activities are put on by All Campus Events, a student-run organization at UT. For the past two years I have had the privilege of actually being the Homecoming Chair for ACE.
Like i said earlier the week is full of events. Banner Drop, Anything Goes (Relay Race), Smokey’s Howl (Spirit Competition), Soap Box Derby, 3-on-3 Basketball, Lawn/Lobby/Window Display, and Float.
This is going to be a week of sleepless nights for participating organization members and ACE members alike. Months of preparation is culminating into one week of events. I am sorry this post is so short, I have judges sheets to tally up. I will try to update you as the week goes on. Wish me luck!
